We are not just one program.

We are a network of programs, designed to work together to meet every stage of need -- from first response to relapse prevention and housing, and all in between. It is this uniquely holistic approach that allows us to reach so many who might otherwise go unaided.

We have the resources to connect with the homeless where they are, and make the difference in their lives.

Our programs and services are listed below.

So real and so true

Kelly struggled dangerously with alcohol and drug abuse for more than ten years. She came to a Woman's Place in 1999, where the comprehensive services and powerful relationships with her counselors encouraged her recovery. "I couldn't have done this at another shelter. There was something so real and so true here."

Kelly has been sober since April 1999. Now a manager in a pet store, she's reconnected with her vocation and passion, and inspired by life's potential again.

Something just clicked

Jack moved to San Francisco in 1937. He abused drugs and alcohol for than fifty years, struggling ineffectively to overcome his addiction. "I came to Golden Gate for Seniors in 1997. And as soon as I came here, something just clicked. I thought, 'Here I think I could do it...' Because we're with our peers."

Jack is in his 70's and celebrating a decade clean and sober. At one time the enthusiastic house manager at Golden Gate for seniors, he still looks forward to assisting many others in their journey to recovery.

Sobering Center, and outreach services to those at risk on the streets.

Successful life transformations

Leo McMillan is an integral part of CATS and their success. Having recovered from alcohol addiction himself, Leo believed CATS' innovative and devoted approach to recovery could and would help many more in similar need. "The progression of recovery can't be achieved in 30 days. CATS provides ongoing support necessary for successful life transformations."

Leo's involvement gave rise to Mobile Assistance Patrol and Golden Gate for Seniors, and continues to strengthen many other services. "Find a need and fill it with love, compassion and care..."
