MANAGEMENT TEAM


 

Janet Goy, Executive Director

Janet Goy began her career at CATS in 1999 as the organization’s Deputy Director, bringing many year of experience in nonprofit management.   Janet was later promoted to Executive Director for her exemplary leadership.

Previously Janet served as an administrator with the American Red Cross and Planned Parenthood in the South Bay.  While at the American Red Cross she managed the disaster operation during the Loma Prieta Earthquake and implemented and dealt with merger issues of Single Parent Services.  At Planned Parenthood she managed the growth and expansion of the department of health education and counseling services. Janet also launched and implemented a 6 agency collaborative for homeless youth while directing a counseling department in a community agency serving the San Jose area.

Janet has a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Western Michigan University and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California.  She also has research experience in psychology from Stanford University.  She brings this understanding of mental health issues to
CATS as she assists with the development of client centered programs addressing substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessness.


In her role as Executive Director, Janet is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of the agency, including managing organizational activities, programs, fundraising and infrastructure.

 


 
Takenarine (Harry) Beharry, Finance Director

Takenarine (Harry) Beharry has served as CATS Finance Director since March 2006. His experience as an accountant for over 20 years include federal taxation, accounting for non-profit and for-profit organizations, as well as handling federal, state and city grants. In this role at CATS, he takes responsibility for accounting, financial analysis, budgets, and reports to funding agencies.

 

Born and raised in Guyana in South America along the Atlantic/Caribbean coast, Harry migrated to the United States in 1969 and completed his B.S. in accounting from San Francisco State Universtiy and passed the Certified Public Accountant Examination.

 

Previously, Harry worked as an accounting/financial director for various nonprofit organizations such as Men Overcoming Violence, San Francisco Girls Chorus, Fellowship Academy & Preschool and the Iris Center.

 


  
Darice Tillery,
Human Resources Director

Darice Tillery has worked in the field of human resources for over 10 years. Prior to joining CATS, she held a variety of human resource positions in nonprofit organizations in the Bay Area. Most recently, she has worked as Human Resources Manager at WestCoast Children’s Clinic, as Senior Human Resources Representative at Institute on Aging, Director of Human Resources at Free at Last Community Recovery and as Human Resources Generalist at Planned Parenthood Golden Gate. Her professional expertise includes human resources management, employee and labor relations, benefits administration, organizational change management and training. In her role as CATS' HR director, she is responsible for managing all functional areas of HR.

Darice received her B.A. in English from Santa Clara University and her M.A. in Creative Writing from New College.  She has served as CATS Human Resources Director since December 2009.



  
Kitty Martin, Executive Administrative Assistant

Kitty Martin has served for over three years as CATS' Executive Administrative Assistant. She offers administrative support to both the Executive Director and Human Resources Director. In addition, Kitty acts as liaison between CATS' Board of Directors and administration and assists Program Directors with issues related to employment. Prior to working at CATS, Kitty was the HR Assistant for Head Start of San Francisco. She enjoys working in the non-profit sector, particularly for organizations that help make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged and underserved in San Francisco.
