Located in the Tenderloin, the Coronado Hotel provides housing and support services to 65 formerly homeless individuals in SRO units. All referrals are processed through San Francisco Homeless Outreach Team (SFHOT) and Human Services Agency (HSA).
Support services include case management that provides outreach and engagement of tenants, intake and assessment, mediation with property management and eviction prevention, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, benefits counseling and advocacy. In addition to these services, tenants can also receive specialized benefits counseling related to SSI and veterans benefits, employment related services, mental health, substance abuse, medical counseling and referrals, and access to food in the food pantry program.
Tenants are encouraged to seek support groups, participate in social events (i.e. board games, movie nights, various holiday celebrations) and organized activities which provide opportunities to participate in gatherings for peer support and to form social connections with other tenants. These events are held on-site and are often planned with or based on the input from tenants. Kes Phillips, Senior Program Director
